The delegation has also visited the various ornamental plant and cut flower greenhouses in addition to seed production facilities in the country.
Sakarya Trade Board Chairman Adem Sari: “We have gathered a lot of information about the structure, history, and processes of the Royal FloraHolland, an international market place for cut flower and ornamental plant trade. We have learned a lot about the workings of the auction and we will adopt some of their practices in the seedling auction we are planning to set up in our city.
Ornamental plant production is an important economic in our city which generates a lot of income and creates a lot of jobs for many people. We are trying to support this industry in the best way possible and the project to set up the aforementioned seedling auction is one of the many initiatives we undertake to assist our growers. With this auction, our vision is to make our city a center of ornamental plant and seedling production and open the gateways for our growers to export their products.”
