Do you have a special and new cultivar that will be on sale in 2020/2021? If so, you qualify for the Royal FloraHolland’s Glazen Tulip Awards 2020-2021. This award is given to the best market introduction in the floriculture industry.
Five categories
The Glazen Tulip Award 2020-2021 will go to the best market introduction in the following five categories:
- Cut flowers
- Concepts
- Flowering Houseplants
- Green Houseplants
- Garden Plants
The industry is the jury
The floriculture industry and the professional jury will choose the winner. The new products nominated for the 2020-2021 Glazen Tulip Awards will be presented in the Royal FloraHolland House during the various annual fairs. Visitors will be encouraged to vote for their favourite product per category in multiple ways. Subsequently, the new products that received the most votes are presented to the professional jury. They will come together, and after a presentation of the most popular new products, the members of the jury will choose the five best finalists.
Key dates
The participating products will receive a lot of attention due to various Royal FloraHolland promotional campaigns, and the public can vote for the best new product.
- The first voting round takes place in May 2020. This will be communicated to all Royal FloraHolland members and buyers via newsletters, social media and other mailings.
- The second voting round takes place in October 2020. A professional jury will cast the votes in the second voting round. This will be communicated to all Royal FloraHolland members and buyers via newsletters, social media and other mailings. It will also be promoted during the Trade Fair Aalsmeer.
- The Glazen Tulp Award 2020-2021 will be presented in December 2020. Royal FloraHolland has invited all of its relations in the floriculture industry, which means that your new products will be given extra attention there as well. The exact date will be announced at a later stage.
