New crop protection options for Canadian growers

Nealta Miticide (cyflumetofen) has been approved for use on greenhouse and outdoor ornamental crops in Canada. Nealta is an acaricide that is labelled for spruce spider mite, european red mite, two-spotted spider mite and McDaniel spider mite. Nealta is not known to harm many commonly used arthropod biocontrols and thus can be used in a variety of pest control programs.

Ference Insecticide (cyantraniliprole) is registered for use on turf, outdoor and indoor ornamental crops in Canada. Ference is approved for use as a foliar spray and a drench use against aphids, soft scale and whiteflies and suppress thrips. Many growers will be familiar with the widely used US product Mainspring, Ference contains the same active ingredient cyantraniliprole.
