Danziger, A.M.A. and Bosman Van Zaal feature stories for Women's Day

Industry's women in the spotlight

Yesterday, on March 8, International Women's Day was celebrated, a day that provides a designated time each year to identify and celebrate the successful achievements of women. In honor of this year's theme - #EachforEqual, Danziger featured the individual stories of some of the world’s most influential women in the flower industry. "Being a woman leader in this industry is not trivial, since the flower industry as an agricultural domain has traditionally been identified mostly with men."

They interviewed some women who have succeeded in making significant changes in the flower industry, each in her own field.

Here are their stories:

The women highlighted by A.M.A. are:

  • Julie Clancy, Co-Owner, Manager, Purchaser, Belgian Nursery Ltd.
  • Darby McGrath, Research Scientist, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre
  • Joyce Hultink, Hultink Garden Centre Ltd. – A Place to Grow
