The development and spread of the Coronavirus is currently receiving a lot of attention in the media. Veiling Rhein-Maas is in close contact with both parent organisations Landgard and Royal FloraHolland in order to protect the health of all employees, customers and suppliers.
Sale of horticultural products still permitted in Germany and the Netherlands
On Monday 16 March 2020, Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, gave a press conference and Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, held a speech on the topic of the Coronavirus. Veiling Rhein-Maas interprets the official announcement as follows: All retail and wholesale businesses engaged in the sale of horticultural products can remain open in Germany and the Netherlands. They also take this information from today's press conference of the NRW state government concerning the current situation and the implementation of measures in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Adjustment for Clock pre sales
In view of the current uncertain market and sales situation, Veiling Rhein-Maas has decided to extend the reservation option at Clock pre sales. For suppliers who offer their products via Clock pre sales there will be no changes in the practical implementation. With the extension, customers have the possibility to reserve a larger part of their demand in advance. The auction is increasing the possible reservation at cut flowers up to 50%. In terms of potted plants, the reservation will be extended to 50% at single and large lots and to 75% at sample lots.
