Russia: In this greenhouse begonias bloom

Once you step over the threshold of the MBU Mahachkala-1 in Kirov region, you see an endless field of flowers, bushes and even trees. Here it is always eternal spring; the temperature is maintained at the level of 20 degrees.

Watering and heating systems are installed around the walls here, positive pressure ventilation is working nonstop. The lighting, regular watering and biological fertilizers give the results, there are begonias, daisies, pansies, salves, ageratums everywhere.

“I do not have special education”, confesses the greenhouse associate, Ms. Milana Shahbanova. “I am new to the sphere, I only started working in the greenhouse half a year ago but I love my job and I have a feeling that I live in a magical flower kingdom.”

“We are filling the disks with turf now and preparing the soil for petunia plating and ageratum”, tells Milana. “We prepare about 65 of such disks a day, and that’s not including planting, watering, disinfection, nutrition, all these processes take a lot of time and energy but it’s worth it.”

The overall acreage of the nursery according to the head of the enterprise, Mr. Abdulmazhida Musaev reached 450 square meters. They grow here annually over 100 flower varieties.

“The city has already planted 2 thousand tulips, 10 thousand roses and just as many are planned to be planted. We plant the seeds in January. In a month, they will bloom and pansies already present a joyful display. We will start decorating the city on April 15, noted Mr. Abdulmazhida Musaev.

He takes just as good care over his own home garden as over the greenhouse. “There are no ugly flowers, each of them is beautiful in own way”, assures Mr. Abdulmazhida Musaev.
