Coronavirus stops the import of cut flowers in Turkey

Coronavirus outbreak has impacted many industries across the world and the floriculture industry is one of the industries which has been hit the hardest by the virus.

As a result, the global trade of flowers and plants has slowed down almost to a standstill and Turkey’s cut flowers and ornamental plant imports came to a halt.

Wholesalers have reduced their flower imports during this time as many florists are closing down their shops due to low market demand. A small faction of florists turned their focus to artificial flowers.

Florists note that they have burned through all of their stocks as of now and hoping for a swift recovery at the market soon. They also added that they might start sourcing from local growers instead of purchasing imported goods from wholesalers.
