Industry stresses health benefits of flowers and plants

Not everyone considers flowers to be a primary necessity and that´s why floriculture has suffered so much during this crisis. Now, more and more initiatives are being undertaken to stress the importance of flowers during this period. "Flower and plants are good for your health." It is a sentence that is more and more used in promotion campaigns these days and it is proven to be true. AIPH recently shared studies which are saying that flowers (click here for the sheet) and gardening (Click here for the sheet) are good for one's health.

Recently also Colombian chrysanthemum grower Flores El Capiro shared a video in which they stress the physical and mental benefits of flowers. In this less than 1 minute video, they shared the ways flowers can help a person. See the video below.

Alejandra Restrepo, Marketing and Commercial Chief of the company, at Flores El Capiro: "We believe that they actually are a primary necessity in these harsh times, they contribute in so many different ways to our well-being and our state of mind, and even though we often do not realize they help, it´s a reality that they do by brightening up our homes, putting a smile on our faces, cheering us up, reducing our anxiety, purifying the air we breathe and even bettering our sleep. These are some of the often non-recognizable facts about flowers that we´re conveying to all of our clients every day, and through a beautiful and sensitive campaign we´re trying to let people know how important and useful it can be to have some pretty flowers brightening up both, your home and your mood right now."

Flores El Capiro ships their chrysanthemums all over the world and they are committed to keep up the hard work while complying with all of the safety measures that must be taken. "Marisol Silva, our Human Resources Director, is committed to the cause and feels responsible for all the employees working at the Company. She makes sure that everyone receives a sanitizing gel, a mask, counts on a proper transportation to and from work and provides a safe and comfortable working space to each one of our collaborators. Furthermore, all administrative changes have already been implemented at the home office, reducing the probabilities of infection within the Organization and the spread ratio in the community."

"The time in which we have to support each other has come, we will grow stronger, braver and wiser if we stand by each other, help one another, rise above and change for a better tomorrow."

“Today we want to thank our collaborators, who keep working tirelessly to maintain the mission of the company. Today more than ever we want to recognize their passion and commitment to the company. We are sure that by working with love we will overcome every obstacle. Their labor in this mission is very important."
