US (CA): 30,000 flowers will be given away for free in San Luis Obispo

The California Cut Flower Commission is teaming up with Avila Valley Barn, Connected Communities, and Ocean Breeze Farms to give 30,000 Gerbera Daisies away for free.

The flowers will be Donated by Ocean Breeze Farms in Arroyo Grande, this Thursday, April 2nd, at 3 p.m.

Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, a handful of retailers continue to buy flowers, but many grocery brands are canceling orders or turning fresh cut flowers away.

Without the ability to sell, Ocean Breeze Farms in Arroyo Grande was a day away from disposing of their entire Gerbera Daisy supply.

When Tyler Skinner of Connected Communities heard this news, she had an idea. Working tirelessly with Ocean Breeze Farms, California Grown Flower Commission & Avila Valley Barn, she created the first ever 30,000 flower giveaway.
