Veiling Rhein-Maas auctions on Friday 3 April 2020

Last week, Veiling Rhein-Maas has announced to auction on three weekdays from 30 March 2020 onwards. However, due to the current market situation and multiple customer requests, the auction will be held as follows:

  • On Friday, 3 April 2020, the auction will take place.
  • On Tuesday, 7 April, the auction will be held.
  • They will shortly inform you if there will be an auction on Friday 10 April (Good Friday).

The special supply and opening times for the upcoming days can be found here. There will be no changes regarding Clock Service or the Webshop for customers. Clock Service will stay available from Monday to Friday, except Good Friday and Easter Monday, and the Webshop on all seven weekdays.

Suppliers of potted plants, which have already reached the amounts stated in their weekly supply report on Wednesday or Thursday, cannot take part in the auction on Friday 3 April 2020. Concerned suppliers will be informed personally.

Start of early auctioning period postponed
Veiling Rhein-Maas will not start the early auctioning period in calendar week 15. Within the next week, there will be a decision about starting the early auctioning period in calendar week 16. They will inform you as soon as possible.

Weekly supply report calendar week 15
Suppliers of potted plants will receive the weekly supply report for calendar week 15 on Thursday 2 April 2020. In this weekly supply report, Good Friday (10 April 2020) will not be listed. In case there will be an auction on this day, the reported supply amounts for Thursday will also apply on Friday. Please be aware that this is an extension of the maximum weekly supply amount. The Assortment and Import Department will check all weekly supply repots in order to stop any exceedances. Products of suppliers that exceed the approved supply amounts despite personal information will be auctioned at the end of the product group or will not be auctioned at all.

Use Remote Buying
The auction increased the capacity of Remote Buying by 25% last week, which some customers directly used to register for this digital purchasing channel. They recommend again to use primarily Remote Buying to purchase your products safely from home. In case you are not registered for Remote Buying yet, speak to your contact person at Relation Management.

Protect yourself and your surroundings
Veiling Rhein-Maas asks to send only one employee of your company to Straelen-Herongen to take part in the auction as possible. In this way, they can offer more customers the opportunity to make their purchases on site. Within the framework of the current protective measures and for the safety of customers, Veiling Rhein-Maas have blocked seats in the auction room. In addition, they will shortly install protective panels between the seats to further increase your safety. Please note that they may not be able to provide you with your reserved seats at the moment.

Further protective measures
It is currently not permitted to bring other family members (also no children) who are not responsible for purchasing to the premises of Veiling Rhein-Maas. Please also make sure that you keep a sufficient distance of 1.5 meters to other persons when using the elevator in the foyer of the auction. Also keep this distance at the cash desk as well as at the loading list printers and the coffee serving point.

Veiling Rhein-Maas will inform you on their website or social media channels (FacebookTwitterLinkedIn) about the latest developments and measures concerning the Coronavirus. Register here for email newsletters in order to receive the latest information directly.
