On Wednesday, April 8, the total turnover (clock and direct) amounted to 12.47 million euros. A decrease of 43.3% compared to last year (compared to Wednesday 10th April 2019).
The clock turnover amounted to 4.35 million. A total of more than 20.3 million units were supplied for the clock. Of today's supply, 4.2% has been destroyed (3.9% for cut flowers, 16.7% for houseplants and 0.3% for garden plants). This makes the destroy percentage considerably higher than yesterday, when 1.7% was the destroy percentage.
Yesterday (April 8), compared to last Wednesday (30th March 2020), approximately 4,500 more carts have been brought in on the clocks of Royal FloraHolland. This is approx. 8.2 million more compared to last Wednesday 1st April. More than half of all product groups are now at 100% or higher. 73% of all product groups are now 75% or higher.
In view of the increase in the number of trolleys/pieces at the various locations in recent days, extra clocks will be added on Friday 10th April 2020 and Tuesday 14th April 2020:
- Rijnsburg: Friday 10th April 2020, location Rijnsburg will go back to 7 bells;
- Naaldwijk: Tuesday 14th April 2020 two rose clocks (3 and 8) will be auctioned again at the Naaldwijk location.
- Aalsmeer: Tuesday 14th April 2020 at location Aalsmeer again 4 plant clocks will be auctioned. The flowers 10 and 11 will also be activated again.
To conclude, as of Tuesday 14th April 2020, the maximum percentage of clock presales for all product groups will be reset to 50%. "As a result of the adjusted supply regulation per product group, we see that supply and demand will be better balanced and that the need for a higher percentage will disappear. This will also limit the number of (small-scale) logistic transactions, which will reduce the pressure on the distribution process and lead times somewhat. The above reason has led to the decision to adjust the clock advance sales percentage downwards."
