PanAmerican Seed to show FlowerTrials 2020 display virtually

"We always say: you can simply not afford to miss FlowerTrials! Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 virus we will all miss the event this year. The most important thing at this moment though, is that we beat this virus together and stay inside and avoid contacts as much as possible." PanAmerican Seed states on their website

During FlowerTrials PanAmerican Seed planned to give the visitor a complete overview of their new and existing varieties in a beautiful and attractive colourful setting at their location in Venhuizen, The Netherlands. "Good coffee and lunch and all your favourite PanAmerican Seed contacts in one place to tell you everything about the varieties that we are displaying." However, the event is canceled so they cannot show their visitors the products the way that they are familiar with. "Therefore, they try to be positive and optimistic and think of creative ways to keep you updated on any news and our product introductions." As alternatives for the California Spring Trials they launched SimulCAST and CAST mobile, and they also plan to launch similar virtual alternatives for FlowerTrials 2020, to inform everyone about their new varieties.

In this virtual alternative, they will update everyone on all their new products, including:

Impatiens Beacon®
This series that is highly resistant to Impatiens downy mildew, and with a plant structure, flowering time, flower size and crop culture that is similar to Super Elfin. This year they introduce a new colour: Rose. (Available October 1st, 2020). "The market is asking for more colours and this is one of them."

Two new Wave® Petunias - Easy Wave® Rose Fusion and Shock Wave® Purple Tie Dye.
Rose Fusion has a rich rose colour, with a dark vein pattern. It is the third addition to novelty-types in the Easy Wave varieties with a flower pattern. Purple Tie Dye is a playful bicolour-type with purple-blue and white flowers within the same plant. This is another novelty-type variety with an unique flower pattern. Fun fact: Consumers helped name it as Purple Tie Dye.

The Foliage Celosia Sol™ Collection
The Sol collection of celosias are grown for their interesting foliage colour and texture. These varieties make great additions to mixed containers and foliage programs, both in containers and landscapes, and are heat tolerant. The Sol collection consists of two new varieties: Lizzard Leaf and Fleuroselect Gold Medal winning Gekko Green.

Lobelia Starship™
It is a strongly branched plant with bold colours. Uniform production of highly attractive finished plant quality in any pot size that you want to offer. They add three new colours to the Lobelia Starship series: Blue, Burgundy and Scarlet Bronze Leaf.

Tomato Siam
It is the first tomato introduction in the Kitchen Minis collection. Sweet, tasty, red fruit are great for snacking, adding to salads, or cooking. The new Kitchen Minis® collection includes potted vegetable plants consumers can grow inside on a sunny windowsill or counter without a garden. They can also be grown outside as tabletop patio varieties. "These Kitchen Minis encourage consumers to grow and harvest their own homegrown vegetables all year round."

Check out their blog for more updates on the latest plants and programs.
