Edible rose named after pastry chef Jordi Roca

After long preparations and delays due to the epidemic situation, Pheno Geno Roses participated in a formal event to baptize a new edible rose from their ‘Taste of Love’ collection – Rosa ‘Jordi Roca’.

"We are so proud to have Mr. Roca, a winner of ‘2014 World’s Best Pastry Chef Award’ and a bearer of three Michelin stars, as our rose ambassador", the company shares in a statement.

Baptism took place in Girona, Spain, and was attended by Mr. Roca himself; Pheno Geno sales manager Mr. Mario Kurt Gigerl; partner and grower in Spain Mr. Josep M. Gel Brugat, head of Plantes Gel company; and Mrs. Willianne Sluiter from Incredible Roses company who donated flowers of the new rose for this big event.

Baptism was kept away form the public and audience in respect to the current epidemic situation.

During the baptismal event, Mr. Roca demonstrated his culinary skills while he prepared deserts with the new sweet and fruity rose variety.

The entire event was followed by a TV crew from the show Aqui La Tierra, that will soon be broadcast on First National Spanish television.
