Glorious Gloriosa is a modern nursery for cut flowers and potted plants with an area of 2 ha in Maasbree (NL). "Our main product is the Gloriosa, which we market as cut flower and potted plant. It is a niche product that is appreciated by many of our customers. In addition to the Gloriosa, we have a number of other products in our range, including the Mandevilla," says Antoine Hoeijmakers. He runs the business together with his wife Anja. In the new 'supplier in the spotlight', Veiling Rhein-Maas introduces Glorious Gloriosa.
Special form of cultivation
In the video Antoine Hoeijmakers shows the special cultivation of Gloriosa. He says: "The cut flowers and houseplants both grow along a wire to the top. The cut flowers grow high, so you can cut 20 cm and 80 cm long stems. The houseplants are turned back with three different arches to form a compact and beautiful grown plant. After the crop, new plant bulbs are formed at the bottom of the pot of the cut flower, of which one is used again for cut flower production and one for production of houseplants. This ensures a continuous process for the Gloriosa, so we are completely self-sufficient!”
Sales and advertising
For Antoine Hoeijmakers, Veiling Rhein-Maas is an important partner. His products are sold in Straelen-Herongen via the auction clock, the Klokservice and the Webshop. To promote his products, he likes to make use of the foyer of the auction. Here the company presents its (new) products to the customers of the auction several times a year.
Cooperation and future
Antoine Hoeijmakers experiences the contact with the employees of Veiling Rhein-Maas as intensive. "This means that we are always well informed about the business of our customers. We need this information to know what our customers want and what they think about us. We look positively to the future and believe that we have magnificent products. The Gloriosa in particular is a beautiful product with sufficient market potential to attract even more customers to us," Antoine Hoeijmakers concludes.
