The Dümmen Orange team in Colombia has started preparing for the Carnation Open House 2021 in week 9 at La Gaitana Farms, near Bogotá. Currently they are planting carnation cuttings at the experimental station. The Carnation Open House 2021 runs parallel to the national Carnation Week during which all carnation breeders in Colombia show their assortment for promotion among important buyers in the USA, Europe and Japan.
At the farm they run a continuous product development process. So next to the Open House they will be evaluating 436 new codes and varieties and also present the assortment and trials of the Dianthus barbatus series called Barberatus.
