Last Saturday afternoon, August 22, the official launch of the Giant Flower Bulbs project was grandly presented. In the Park “Groot Leerust" in Warmond, the Netherlands, 2 flat-bottomed boats docked at the quay. On top of the boats were in total 5, man-high, “Giant Flower Bulbs” painted by artists from the Flower bulb area.
In total 80 of these “Giant Flower Bulbs will be placed in the Flower bulb area between Leiden and Haarlem. All “bulbs” have their own story and impression of the artist who painted it.
When all 80 colorful projects are placed, there will be 2 cycle routes made, which will make sure you can admire all “Giant Flower Bulbs”
The “Giant Flower Bulbs” are adopted by foundations, companies, communities, cities and organizations. Numerous cities, companies, and organizations are already participating in this project.
The Flower-bulb area is an international highlight and for many foreigners a “must visit” (who does not know Holland for its Tulips, wooden shoes and Windmills). Therefore also the Giant Flower Bulbs are also open for display abroad, for instance at city parks in China or Japan, exhibitions in Germany or USA, foreign companies, etc.
