An impression of AmeriSeed Monsoon-Rainy Trials 2020

AmeriSeed is well known for their many heat tolerant varieties of Hybrid American Marigold, Vinca and Zinnia. To ensure continuous product improvement, AmeriSeed conducts regular, seasonal trials in various parts of the world to improve, optimize and adapt their varieties to local conditions with special emphasis on heat, disease, and rain tolerance. This Monsoon season, AmeriSeed partnered with Asian Biotech and undertook comparison trials from June to October, the wettest part of the year in Northern Thailand.

Data and information were collected from sowing to full bloom.

AmeriSeed and other Marigold varieties were trialed and evaluated under the wettest, and most humid conditions. Evaluations included germination, vigor, rain, disease tolerance, yield, and shelf life after harvest.

Before launching new and improved Cut Flower Marigold varieties it is exceptionally important to trial in as many locations and climates as possible and this rainy season trial has helped AmeriSeed obtain important information on 98 different varieties and colors varieties.

The goal is to identify varieties that perform best during the exceptionally wet Thai Monsoon season. This information is currently being evaluated and will enable AmeriSeed to optimize future breeding and varietal selections helping customers and cut flower growers worldwide make informed varietal choices.

The final evaluation will take place at the end of the first week of October 2020.

More photographic highlights will be published on the AmeriSeed website and several social media platforms at the end of October 2020.
