The municipality of Karaburun in Izmir has distributed 120,000 daffodil bulbs to growers. Most of the growers were women and the bulbs are distributed to them through the grower cooperatives. The municipality has taken this initiative to increase daffodil production in the town and to create more added value for the local economy.
60 growers have received the bulbs as a result of the initiative and the project is hoped to set an example for the other growers in the region by encouraging the production of different varieties in the area.
