Turkey: New dates for The Flower and Plant Show

Tarsus Turkey announces that The Flower and Plant Show will take place in 2021. Organized in cooperation with the Ornamental Plant Growers Union (SÜSBİR), the Fair will be held on November 11-13, 2021. Tarsus Turkey General Manager Zekeriya Aytemur said that the decision to postpone was taken with the participation of all sector stakeholders. He added, “We are continuing to work to make The Flower and Plant Show 2021 the most successful fair of all time.”

The domestic ornamental plants' sector, which produces an average of 6 billion lira annually and employs 100,000 people directly and 500,000 people indirectly, will hold its 12th meeting in 2021 in accordance with the joint decision of all stakeholders. Tarsus Turkey General Manager Zekeriya Aytemur said, “When the 2019 Fair concluded, we immediately began working to organize an even more successful Fair in 2020.” He added that, despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, all efforts had been made to successfully open The Flower and Plant Show on the scheduled date. Aytemur noted that, although promotions across all channels were ongoing, the likelihood of reduced attendance due to travel or personal issues was a concern. He added that “From mid-September, we sought the opinions of all our exhibitors regarding the Fair dates. The majority of our exhibitors stated that the current conditions could detract from the success of the Fair and, therefore, postponing the event to 2021 would benefit the industry. We listened to the input of the sector’s stakeholders, especially our exhibitors and visitors, and have postponed The Flower and Plant Show to November 11-13, 2021. We have no doubt that the 2021 Fair will prove to be successful and productive for all exhibitors.”

The Flower and Plant Show 2021 will feature all kinds of new technology, materials and equipment used during production and landscape applications, as well as a wide range of plants. While the Turkic Republics and North African countries are determined as new target markets, the Fair also offers domestic producers an opportunity to expand their export share in European markets.
