Last Tuesday, CE-Line received the GreenTech Innovation Concept Award for their CELINE technology. CEO WIlco Dijkstra is happy: "Irrigation water with flavor is coming, we are going to install CELINE in the field in the coming months."
The CELINE technology was labeled by the jury of GreenTech Live & Online as the most promising innovation concept and received positive reviews. 'A great idea that has not been solved yet and which is a large step forwards in very precise fertilization.'

Real-time measurements
CE-Line BV is a start-up from the Frisian city of Heerenveen, which makes measuring systems for water quality in greenhouse horticulture. The company received the innovation price for the CELINE technology, which adjusts the nutrients in the water according to the needs of the plant. This starts by continuously measuring all nutrients in real time with CELINE.
Laboratory quality data
This real time laboratory quality data, combined with individual nutrient dosage systems, makes it possible to create the ideal nutrient water which is always stable and manageable, no matter the circumstances, Wilco explains. He mentions the advantages: 5% more yield, improved crop and fruit quality, reduced water and fertilizer usage and remote control over water and nutrient management.
Practical experience with growers
In recent months, the measuring component has been validated. "CELINE measures at the same level as the accredited Dutch laboratories which are used in greenhouse horticulture. The first field trials in a test location in Bleiswijk are promising. In the coming months a lot of practical experience with growers will be gained. We are going to closely cooperate with the growers to achieve optimal irrigation."
