Hort Science Online 3 (HSO 3), the last in ICL’s digital autumn events, went live yesterday providing access to six topical workstations featuring diverse subjects from creating IPM plans to harnessing social media to grow online presence.

“With HSO we set out to cover a broad range of topics to help growers prepare for the coming season,” says ICL Marketing Communications Manager, Adam Ferjani. “So far, over 250 professional growers, advisors and students have logged on to our HSO digital platform to access these interactive workstations and in many cases to earn themselves CPD points.”
HSO 3 workstation one focusses on creating an IPM plan for healthier plants and is led by ICL’s IPM expert Martin Donnelly and Technical Area Sales Manager Sam Rivers. Staying with plant health, ICL’s Technical Manager Andrew Wilson shines a spotlight on water quality and its effect on plant growth and health.
The workstation entitled ‘Biostimulants – let’s make this simple’ is led by Syngenta Technical Manager, Glenn Kirby. As well as the different types, Glenn sheds light on what they do and the current regulations. Meanwhile, Richard Collins - of ICL’s Amega-Sciences - explores the principles of seaweed biostimulants.
At a time when many growers are re-evaluating their substrate mixes, ICL’s Steve Hughes takes growers through the basics of growing media.
And finally, in a year when online marketing has taken on new importance for many nurseries, Abi Gaden – Marketing Director of Prominent PR - looks at how different social media platforms work and how to utilize them to grow online presence.
“As before, participants have the flexibility to access the event over several weeks,” explains Adam. “HSO 3 will remain live until 31 December 2020.”
