Pathogen control for proactive growers

Contained environments lock out many threats by protecting plants from predators and extreme weather like snow, hurricane winds or scorching heat. Unfortunately, sometimes the smaller the pest the bigger the problem. Consistent issues persist in contained environments caused by fungi, bacteria and human health pathogens. BioSafe Systems has mastered integrated sanitation practices to target harmful organisms and minimize risks to growers in facilities and the environment.

"While employees prove vigilant about plant health by incorporating soil pesticides, foliar sprays and irrigation water treatment, thorough surface sanitation is a vital component of health in an indoor growing operation," Hannah Rouillard with BioSafe Systems explains. "SaniDate 5.0 sanitizes and disinfects at the same time, on contact, and has proven effective without leaving any harmful residuals behind. The sanitizer/disinfectant is strong enough to oxidize on contact, breaking down the cell structure of disease-causing organisms and human health pathogens in record time. These microbial pests can threaten a growing operation and a dedicated team’s investment. Implementing biopesticides and a broad-spectrum sanitizer will save any operation on labor, time and safety concerns. By using these products from the beginning of your operation you prepare yourself for a productive rotation every time and minimize efforts needed to maintain a clean growing process."

Maintaining a clean growing environment includes addressing critical points of vulnerability often overlooked, beginning at the first threshold. "Two and a half gallons is enough to soak through the durable BioMat, when placed on the floor at every entrance you can walk in peace knowing pathogens haven’t hitchhiked into your facility on your shoe soles," she says. "This small, first step initiates an active, yet effortless, promotion of biosecurity. In fact, SaniDate 5.0 is used to knock out harmful pathogens in every corner of contained environments."

"From floor to ceiling, home grown or commercial scale, SaniDate 5.0 is an effective sanitizing/disinfecting solution useful in storage areas, warehouses and vehicles the size of wagons, tractors or 18-wheelers. With various application methods, SaniDate 5.0 gets dispersed by spraying, fogging or foaming for thorough and far-reaching coverage of any hard surface, corner to corner. Preparation is key to mitigating the possible risks and makes treating them easier later on. SaniDate 5.0 can also be used daily in a dip or soak capacity to disinfect frequently used tools like clippers and trays etc."

Certain regions greatly benefit from using contained environments because they elongate the growing season when natural habitats are at the mercy of weather. However, these greenhouses also create an environment conducive to accommodating pesky bacteria, certain fungi or viruses. "But BioSafe Systems’ extensive work with indoor growers had made us experts in treating these troublemakers with PAA products like SaniDate 5.0."
