Handelskwekerij Nouws has won the Glastuinbouw Nederland Quality Award Poinsettia 2020 for Selecta's variety Christmas Universe.

With the award, the Dutch Poinsettia grower was the overall winner in the shelf life test for red Poinsettias of pot size 12 and 13. Jack Nouws happily accepted the prize. In the Glastuinbouw Nederland assortment comparison, existing varieties are compared with new varieties.
Poinsettia Christmas Universe has an intense dark red colour, good foliage quality and is excellent in production, also space-saving, very easy to pack and with very good shelf life. It is easy to grow and easy to keep height under control with very little need for PGR treatments. It has a medium-early reaction time of 7.5 weeks. Christmas Universe has considerable potential, universal appeal and is suitable for all market segments, various climate zones and all pot sizes.
