Peony exports from Antalya, Turkey has started with the blossoming of flowers

Peonies are blooming in the Aksu district of Antalya, the center of cut flower production in Turkey. Peonies are exported to the Netherlands, Romania, and Britain. Ozcaki brothers are cut flower producers in the Aksu district and they started producing peonies 3 years ago. Hayrettin Ozcaki: "We produce cut flowers İn an area of 4 hectares in the Aksu district. We grow carnations in a 3-hectares greenhouse and peonies in a 1-hectare greenhouse. We started to produce cut flowers 12 years ago. We decided to plant peonies 3 years ago and we made production in an area of 1 hectare. We planted in June every year and we export 2 million stems of peonies every year. All of our sales go abroad. We are trying to fulfill domestic demand as well but still, our focus lies abroad. Although we faced difficulties during the pandemic period, our exports have increased. We will increase the peony production area to 3 hectares in the next year. We have sold peony for 0.09 USD per stem we contribute to the economy by exporting 10 kinds of peony flowers every year."
