Field guide "Orchids of the Benelux"

This field guide of the Orchids of the Benelux covers the orchids of the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. It reflects the clear correlation between these three countries through cross-border phytogeographical districts with their associated orchid species. This book covers all orchid species recorded in the Benelux, including those which are now extinct there. They are presented logically in alphabetical order.

The taxa are listed with their correct names, most important synonyms, main characteristics, flowering time and habitat, as well as their distribution. In addition, current distribution maps for each species with a grid size of 4 km2 in three chronological periods (1850-1950, 1951-1999, 2000-2021) are presented. The introduction briefly discusses the systematics, biology, flower biology, the phytogeographic districts and information about the distribution maps.
