NL: Members' Council says talks with FloriNEE signatories in planning

More than a week ago, the FloriNEE petition was delivered to the chairman of the Members' Council of Royal FloraHolland by e-mail. So how is it going?

Marcel van Tol: "We are following two routes now. We are taking the formal steps, as required by our Articles of Association. It is of course the first time that a petition is presented to us. I do want to handle this carefully and properly. But no matter how the route continues, the signatories have sent a clear signal that they are not satisfied. We have to deal with that."

Additional questions
In order for the petition to be formally processed, it has to be verified that the conditions have been met: whether at least 250 competent votes have been cast and whether the petition has 5% of our cooperative's voting share. "In order to be able to confirm this, we have asked additional questions to Mr. F.J. Hordijk of Cees Advocaten N.V. who acts on behalf of FloriNEE. We hope to receive a response as soon as possible."

Invitation to meet
"Apart from the formal process, we are picking up the gauntlet informally anyway. Together with the Members' Council, we want to find out what issues the group of signatories to the petition is concerned about. People who signed the petition will soon receive an invitation for a meeting with us. Our Member Council Members Engagement Committee has already had a meeting about that this week. We will keep everyone informed of the progress."
