This morning, the final roses of Aleia Roses have been auctioned in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands. "Of course, if another truck will arrive next week, it will be auctioned," says Jeffrey Leegwater, "but in Spain, harvesting has ended."
The ins and outs of the matter are not clear, even if for Jeffrey, who handles the sales from Aalsmeer. The permit application for the cultivation of medicinal cannabis is said to have been fast-tracked, so the decision was made to prepare the greenhouse for actual production.
Aleia Roses is a Spanish-Dutch rose nursery in Soria, Spain. The company started in 2016 and produces Red Naomi! on over 14 hectares. Last year, the company was bought by US investment company Full Moon Investments, which finances medical cannabis companies worldwide.
