Having only started in 2019 with MPS-ABC environmental certification, Danziger Guatemala obtained MPS-A as their first qualification. Omri Cohen, General manager at Danziger Guatemala is very pleased with this result.
The company was founded by Zehava and Ernest Danziger nine years ago. The company was build up from scratch, but has expanded all over the world. Danziger Guatemala is one of the most important ornamental export companies for North American market and it is growing faster.
Danziger Guatemala started environmental certification because they thought it useful to have the same certification as their customers have, to synchronize the general requirements of the certification. They chose MPS for their knowledge of the ornamental sector and because it was recommended to them by several others.
To start with MPS-ABC, the company did not have to change their processes much. They had also just started with a new inventory platform that helps them organise everything for the certification. Besides a few changes they made to their reports to present all the information to MPS, it wasn’t difficult at all since their processes were similar to the ones that MPS requested for their certification.
Sustainability involvement
Danziger Guatemala has the national registration in the Environment Ministry of the Country, which declares that Danziger Guatemala is under the sustainability requirements of the country. Beside the national requirements, as a company, they find that they are growing green material to get a more colourful world. They will continue reforesting, reusing materials, donating to the community and recycling.
