This month, chrysanthemum nursery River Flowers has obtained of Global G.A.P. Flowers & Ornamental and GRASP. By being awarded these certificates, the 7-hectare chrysanthemum nursery proves that it has excellent quality, human and environmental issues in order.
“During the preparation and audit it soon became apparent that we had taken the right steps in recent years. It definitely feels like a reward when this is recognised by an official body,” says Rick van de Werken, co-owner of River Flowers. “With Global G.A.P. and GRASP we meet the increasing demand from the market to grow chrysanthemums in a sustainable and transparent way. ”
Incidentally, River Flowers is making moves in several areas. For example, their range will be expanded in week 18 with three Haydar cultivars and they are conducting research into other cooling techniques to improve quality and shelf life in the chain.
