An intelligent greenhouse project is in the works at Qingdao Tianxian Flower Technology Co to promote the development of the flower industry and the surrounding villagers to increase their income.
In 2017, two economically weak villages in Qingdao City, Wanjia Village, and Fenghuangtun Village, from Nancun Town, integrated 1.8 million poverty alleviation funds to build more than 2,800 m2 of solar smart greenhouses for Phalaenopsis cultivation. The greenhouse is equipped with water purification equipment, introducing special Phalaenopsis seedlings, carefully nurturing and developing the Phalaenopsis cultivation industry in Nancun. Mr. Ji Wengong, manager of Qingdao Tianxian Flower Technology Co., Ltd., said, "This smart greenhouse can cultivate nearly 200,000 Phalaenopsis every year."
Technology that improves cultivation
According to the technical staff, this greenhouse can achieve intelligent environmental regulation. The light, temperature, ventilation, water and fertilizer are all automatically adjusted according to the needs of flower growth. There is also a specially equipped water purification system in the greenhouse. After receiving the purified water, the flowers bloom more brightly and beautifully. The adjustable seedbed greatly saves planting space and can be moved with a light push, making the work easy and labor-saving. Furthermore, the greenhouse is also equipped with technologies such as water and fertilizer integration and soil-free cultivation.
They are aiming to cultivate characteristic varieties to create a competitive advantage. The variety named "Chanel" is introduced from Taiwan, the flowers as the name suggests, show bursts of fragrance. The Phalaenopsis not only has visual beauty but also adds to the enjoyment of pleasant smell. The mini flower-shaped red crystal has the advantages of light fragrance and also has the characteristics of being small and cute. The high-end and atmospheric V8 can grow 3 branches, each of which can produce 20 flowers. With its white and beautiful flower patterns, it has successfully entered the Japanese market; more than 60 kinds of flowers are sold well in domestic and overseas markets such as the Netherlands, Korea, and so on.
