The Philadelphia Flower Show has made changes to bring gardening to the people on a grand scale. Normally held late February at the convention center downtown, this is the first time the show will be held outdoors, June 5-13, at FDR Park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. There will be 75 floral and landscape installations, completely alfresco, spanning 15 acres.
Suntory Flowers will join by providing plants for a series of container gardening workshops sponsored by Subaru and hosted by designer Tu Bloom, who is known for his potting parties. They have selected varieties that are perfect for summer - Sungelonia angelonia, Soiree Kawaii catharanthus and Surdiva scaevolas. They selected red, white and blue varieties to capture Philadelphia's spirit.
