Anthurium flower, whose homeland is South America, was exported to Romania, Ukraine, and Bulgaria by the company that produced it for the first time in 2002 with soilless agriculture in Antalya, Turkey and the price per stem is 1 USD.
Agricultural Engineer Deniz Bocek, who obtains an average of 350-400,000 stems per year in an area of 4 decares, stated that they are the only producer of anthurium flower in Antalya, the third in Turkey, and said that anthuriums are harvested 365 days and they get 40% more yield with soilless production.
Agricultural Engineer Deniz Bocek: “We produce anthurium flower, a type of flower that is rarely produced in Turkey. We are the first and the only grower in Antalya. We produce through soilless agriculture in an area of 4 decares. The whole system in the greenhouse depends on automation. As a result of the values we entered, computers automatically arrange the temperature, humidity, and irrigation of the plant."
Noting that the most important feature of anthurium flower is durable and long vase life, Deniz Bocek said, “We have varieties that last up to 40 days. It separates itself from other flowers with this feature. Our sales are made domestically and abroad. It usually goes to the Istanbul market domestically. We have shipments abroad to Romania, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. This flower is not sold in bunches. We sell stems for 0.75 USD domestically and 1 USD in exports. We have 12 different colors of anthuriums here. This flower is harvested throughout the entire year. There is no specific day, we can harvest during the day depending on the order situation."
