Gevers Planten

A look inside a Dutch nursery that grows 15 different plant species

Gevers Planten is a special grower who cultivates 15 different plant varieties. The nursery has 5.5 hectares of land where they grow various bedding plants, such as pelargoniums, impatiens and cyclamen.

Gevers Planten has regular cutting suppliers from different countries, like Afrika and Vietnam. They’ve made a big step in mechanization in the past 3 years, where the plant cuttings are planted mechanically and spread out wider, after that the plants get moved to the right place in the greenhouse by using an advanced transport system. Here they will grow to an adult plant, and will it find it’s way to the consumer in mostly Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Sustainability

The growing pots, transport trays, multi-use containers and cardboard are made of 100% recyclable materials to save the environment. Also has this nursery several certifications, including MPS-GAP and Global-GAP.
