They serve German florists optimally by providing them with all the necessary products, including our foliage, in a smart way. WBE talked to purchaser Rick Veilbrief and asked him everything about the company, their vision and their relationship with WBE.
Can you tell more about the company?
Our company was founded in 1973 by Wim Heyl as a flower delivery driver in Germany. Nowadays, customers order 3 times per week via the web-shop and everything is delivered the next morning before 7am. We are specifically aimed at the German market and the German florist. We do this by unburdening the customer, we can supply 99% of everything the florist needs, flowers, plants, funeral wreaths, floristry items, etc. We also make packaging and order units as small as possible for the customer.
Which products do you buy most at WBE?
Salal, Chico, Aspidistra, Ruscus fine, Beargrass, Cocos and a few other small products.
What do you think are the benefits of WBE?
The advantages are that I get all the information in time when something becomes scarce or something similar, you also think along. The packaging is also an advantage. For example, the smaller packages such as 5 Salal, 5 Beregras packed in a bag and the quality.
What does your day look like?
I often get up early. It can differ at what time, because of the volume and what kind of export day it is. Usually, the alarm goes off around 3.30 / 4.00. I will first look at flowers in Rijnsburg or directly to Naaldwijk. Once there, I am going to collect the customer's orders, order what I need from other suppliers and then buy at 6:00 am at the clock. Then answer the e-mails/phone calls from customers after the clock, stock management, ensure that everything is neatly in the web-shop, order from growers suppliers for the next export day.
