Rosen Tantau focuses on the digital presentation of their cut roses

"Three new varieties that perfectly reflect the current trends, demands on the EU market"

As there is less direct contact to clients and no trade fairs, the focus is now on video calls, social media and of course e-commerce. Also for German Rose breeder Rosen Tantau it has become increasingly important and they therefore decided to focus on their digital presentation of their cut rose varieties. Also in this article, more information on their new cut rose breeding that reflect the current trends and demand on the European market.

Better presentation of their cut flowers
“Cut roses are often not bought as a single flower or in a single bunch, it is therefore important to show what professional florists can do with our varieties”, says Alexander Letkow of Rosen Tantau. This is one of the reasons they decided to focus on their website. "We now have a new website (https://cutroses.rosen-tantau.com/) on which we present our cut rose varieties. On this website, our complete range of cut flowers as well as information on our newest breedings are presented alongside the inspirational arrangements.“ And as Rosen Tantau also produces young plants in their propagation in Uetersen, Germany, they also have a section ‘Young plants’ where an overview of all different plant types is presented. They still keep using their former website www.rosen-tantau.com, but only for representing their garden rose varieties and as a B2C online shop.

New varieties
So what new varieties fit the current trends and demands? “For on the European market, we would like to present three new cut rose breedings that perfectly reflect the current trend and demand on the European market, in the premium sector besides the mass production for the supermarkets.” These varieties are Bella Natalie, Grandma’s Finest Lilly, and Green Island Maleica.

"Bella Natalie®, a classic hybrid tea rose in a shiny, intense hot pink with a dark-green, glossy foliage. This variety is especially demanded in Eastern Europe and Russia."

"Grandma’s Finest® Lilly is a filled spray rose and a cream-white mutation of our known variety Grandma’s Finest® Mary. She has a very good vase life and is perfect for wedding bouquets and decoration. Spray roses are (luckily) strong demanded again in the last 5 years."

"Green Island® Maleica is a brand-new variety of the Green Island®-assortment in a warm apricot-salmon with the typical green “eye”. Vigorous growing with great stem quality."
