President of Asocolflores awarded Leland T. Kintzele distinguished service award

Given his substantial contributions to the floral industry and a distinguished service that exemplifies the integrity, fairness, perseverance, and decisiveness of Leland T. Kintzele, President of WF&FSA between 1963 and 1965, Augusto Solano, President of Asocolflores, the Association of Colombian Flower Exporters, received in Miami the Leland T. Kintzele (LTK) Distinguished Service Award.

In Miami, during the successful 2021 edition of the Wholesale Florist & Florist Supply Association (WF&FSA) Conference, with more than 500 attendees Solano received the award from Tim Dewey, President of WF&FSA, for his substantial contributions to the growth of the flower industry in the United States. Based in Annapolis Maryland, for 95 years WF&FSA is the association of wholesalers, suppliers, farmers, importers, and shippers of cut flowers and floral supplies in the United States that has been key to the development and efficiency of flower distribution in the United States.

This award was instituted in 1973, and for the second time, it has a Colombian recipient.

“I never imagined I would be honored with this award. It's been a long journey, with many challenges, working for the industry with joy, courage, and surrounded with great people. This really touched me. I will keep this moment in my heart forever”, said the President of Asocolflores when he received this distinction.

Solano’s leadership has contributed in a special way to make the Colombian flowers one of Colombia’s main export products, and his work on behalf of sustainable development in the sector is acknowledged worldwide.

Here is the video of his nomination.
