The ornamental plants sector open to the world from Istanbul

In November, Tarsus Turkey will again present the Turkish Ornamental Plants Industry to new alternative markets abroad with The Flower and Plant Show. Tarsus Turkey hosts approximately $ 2.5 billion of trade through six specialized fairs organized across five sectors; Tarsus holds all its fairs in Istanbul, an important trade center hosting an average of 200 fairs each year.

Causey: “We will continue to do our part to ensure that the Turkish Ornamental Plants Sector enters the top 10 in the world export league.”

Producing an average of TL 6 billion every year, the Turkish ornamental plants' sector currently ranks 23rd among global ornamental plant exporters. Discussing the importance of The Flower and Plant Show, Turkey’s first and only international scale fair in its field in terms of sectoral exports, Tarsus Turkey Fair Director Ebru Causey said that “At the last meeting in 2019, which we organized together with SÜSBİR, the sector’s umbrella organization, we hosted nearly 15,000 buyers from 50 countries. Despite the pandemic process, we have never stopped communicating with the sector's buyer groups. We cooperate with important professional chambers, unions and associations from abroad. We are again implementing the Overseas Buyer program, successfully launched in 2019, at this year’s Fair. Thanks to this program, thousands of buyers from different geographies such as Europe, Turkic Republics, North Africa, and the Middle East will come together with Turkish manufacturers at Tuyap Beylikduzu. Our primary goal is to place Turkey’s ornamental plants sector within the top 10 in the world export league.”

The Flower and Plant Show, preparing to carry the Turkish Ornamental Plants industry to new markets abroad, and aiming to export $ 125 million by the end of the year, will open its doors for the 12th time between November 11-13. Hundreds of new products, technologies and materials, from indoor and outdoor ornamental plants to flower and floriculture materials, from seedlings and seeds to vertical garden applications, from exotic trees to national plants, from irrigation equipment to landscape innovations and garden accessories, will be exhibited at the Fair.
