The Ecuadorian floriculture industry has vaccinated more than 50.000 people in 11 days. Expoflores with its regional coordinators (Corporación Núcleo de Floricultores de Cayambe, Corporación de Floricultores de Tabacundo, Corporación de Floricultores del Sur, AsoflorAustro, Regional Norte and the Regional Quito) and members have implemented a vaccination plan for the farmworkers, their relatives, and the communities near the farms. The effort of each member has allowed us to execute the plan in nine vaccination points providing support in terms of personnel for the brigades, supplies, and economic contributions.
On June 30th, an agreement was signed between the Ecuadorian Enterprise Committee (CEE-Comité Empresarial Ecuatoriano in Spanish) and the Ministry of Public Health to speed up and support the National Vaccination Plan 9/100 to inoculate the productive industries and contribute to the health and economic reactivation of the country.
Expoflores, as a member of the CEE determined to support this agreement in order to inoculate all sector personnel. The journey started on July 8th in Cayambe. There were nine vaccination points in:
In addition, the regional coordinators have shared with us that 11,000 people belonging to member and non-member farms in the sector have been able to inoculate their personnel through individual company management or at national government vaccination points in the different provinces.
