September 21-26

What will the first autumn RHS Chelsea Flower Show look like?

For the first time in its 108-year history, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show is being held in the autumn, from 21st to 26th September, rather than its usual May date.

The change in season will alter the look, feel and plant choices of many exhibits, and garden designers will be making the most of the autumn plant palette in their Show Gardens as they'll be working with different plants that would not be available or at their best in May.

It also allows all visitors and gardening enthusiasts, whether novices or pros, to be inspired by autumn garden planting schemes for their own outdoor space.

At House Beautiful, three plant experts at Squire's Garden Centres have shared their top five plants that they would use if they had a Show Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show this autumn.
