Naranjo Roses at SAF 2021

"All of our presented varieties won prizes"

"The Society of American Florists convention of 2021 was an exciting event. COVID-19 affected planning, scheduling, and assistance like any other event. But it also made a breakthrough since the topics discussed in the convention touched the impact of the pandemic in the industry; guests were able to learn about the insights and how the floral world is adapting." Naranjo Roses wrote this blog about their visit there.

The SAF convention is a yearly event where you can connect with the floral community at an in-person, all-industry event. Between education sessions, workshops, and social events, you have the chance to learn more about the industry and network. The SAF Orlando 2021 convention specially focused on how the industry is adapting to the pandemic at every level. From the structure in a company to how the customer buying behavior has changed.

"Our SAF team was lucky to travel to the convention and learn about different topics. The principal learning point was the Covid19 effects on the florist sector. Also, themes like technology upgrades to connect with customers better and what the floral industry would look like after the pandemic were interesting ideas for our team."

"As part of the convention, SAF organizes the Outstanding Varieties event, which is a competition where growers show their varieties. It is an exclusive showing in front of thousands of the world’s best floral designers. Growers from across the country and around the world come to the SAF Annual Convention to exhibit their most Outstanding Varieties. Expert judges crown one Best in Show, rank 13 Best in Class, and recognize dozens more with Blue (second place) and Red (third place) Ribbons."

"We are glad to announce Naranjo was part of the Outstanding Varieties competition and won Blue and Red Ribbons for all the varieties present at the convention! Our prizes were: -Blue Ribbon (second place): Candlelight, Mandala, and Full Monty -Red Ribbon (third place): Pink Paloma and Phoenix We want to thank the Society of American Florists for hosting us at such an amazing event and our team for working so hard."
