Plantador’s winning varieties at Proflora 2021

Colombia: “These awards are the result of decades of working with rose breeders all over the world”

Plantador Colombia participated in the Variety Competition hosted by Proflora 2021, winning important prizes in the Standard Rose Breeding segments. The event was hosted by Asocoflores, the Colombian Association for the exportation of flowers. Plantador presented several award-winning varieties that are the result of decades of working with different rose breeders from all over the world.

A new variety in the Colombian market
Star Platinum is a Delbard variety that received the first place award in the categories for ‘Breeders’. “The variety is known for its full opening and unique metallic lavender color. It also maintains the ideal ratios between its bud size, stem length, and leaf size. This is a new variety that was only introduced into the Colombian Market in the year 2020.”

“A brilliant yellow color”
Another award winner that was in the spotlight is Texas, a Kordes variety. “This variety won through merit, having a brilliant yellow color, firm petals, large bud size, and good stem quality. Another variety that made its debut in 2020, Texas has a magnificent base life.”

Plantador is thankful to Asocolflores for their support of the industry, along with the support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Procolombia. The team also wants to congratulate all the participants in the different categories for the excellent quality and diverse flowers that were shown.
