The HortiQ certificate is an independent and objective quality system for greenhouse builders, installation companies, and other technical suppliers to the horticultural industry. With the label, companies can demonstrate that their products are of a high quality level and that their business processes are set up and controlled correctly. Harm Maters, chairman of HortiQ: "The Netherlands is world-famous for the quality of its greenhouse technology sector. With the HortiQ certificate, we want to make this quality transparent and objectively measurable."
The HortiQ certificate is issued to companies that have been tested by KIWA on the quality of their products, their internal processes, and their organisation. The requirements for this are based on the NEN standards and the standards laid down in three quality manuals. These books have been compiled by the institute Stichting Kwaliteit voor Installaties Nederland (KviNL).
Guaranteeing quality
Kemeling Kunststoffen has specialist experience since 1976 and is market leader in the development and production of plastic tanks. Director Robert Kemeling: "With the HortiQ certificate, we can guarantee the quality of our products such as the tanks and collection containers that have been specially developed for horticulture: HortiTanks, AaBeeMix, and BigBagMix. This is how we give our customers certainty. We believe in the HortiQ certificate for the horticultural sector, which stands for professionalism and reliability."
Next Level
By now, nineteen companies have been certified with the HortiQ label, issued by the HortiQ foundation, which was founded in 2009. In addition to Kemeling Kunststoffen, they are: Alcomij, Bosman Van Zaal, Certhon, Dalsem, Enthoven Elektrotechniek, Elektravon Haket, Gakon Horticultural Projects, Havecon, Hoogendoorn, Kubo, PB Tec, Snelder, Stolze, Svensson, Van der Hoeven Horticultural Projects, Van Dijk Heating, Vyverberg Greenhousing, and Zantingh.
The HortiQ Next Level policy plan was recently announced. This policy involves working towards a HortiQ-certified chain. Six leading greenhouse builders will respond to this plan by bringing their supply chain under the HortiQ certificate in 2022.
