Green & Bloom opens webshop with 15,000 lines

New Covent Garden Flower Market’s newest business Green & Bloom opened a webshop on January 3. Green & Bloom launched in October 2021 and combines the experience, expertise, and supply networks of cut flower specialist Zest Flowers and plants purveyor Arnott & Mason.

Now, the firm will have 15,000 lines available online, for deliveries in London and collection for customers both inside and outside the capital. All existing account holders will receive a log-in for the new shop, as will the large number of companies that have registered their interest in buying online since the merger.

Outside of New Covent Garden Market trading hours, the ‘live’ webshop will feature everything that Green & Bloom has in stock at the Flower Market, thus allowing last-minute purchases to be made a matter of hours before collection. This is in addition to the c. 15,000 lines available direct from growers. Orders made before 7 am for a product still with growers will be delivered the next day. Orders made after 7 am will be delivered 2 days later.

“This offer is highly competitive with anything else that’s out there,” said Freddie Heathcote, Green & Bloom’s Business Development Director. “The way we are set up means that customers can buy seasonal flowers and plants directly from growers in Britain and around Europe; it’s not based on stock being held in a warehouse. No-one needs to worry about changes to the EU import regulations in January and July either – we’ll have all of that covered off for them.

“We’re not sure right now how the Covid situation is going to affect businesses in our different customer groups, but in a perfect world with no lockdown we’d expect a large influx of customers as soon as the online shop opens. We’ve generated a lot of interest in advance, with more than 250 applications for accounts – which is roughly one third on top of the number of accounts we already had. People seem excited about the online opportunity and pleased to see two businesses and two sets of people they know getting together to realise their combined potential.”

The facility also exists within the system to create bespoke portals for customers, designed to support the structure and requirements of their business. Freddie asks anyone interested in exploring that option to talk to one of the Green & Bloom team. “We’re here to make our customers’ lives easier,” he said. “Please give us a call or come and see us in the Market to find out what we can do for you.” This video gives a run-through of the webshop and how to use it.
