A mosaic of Marginpar flowers at NY flashion week

Twice a year, fashionistas hold their breath for the latest trends during New York Fashion Week, where (inter)national fashion designers show their latest collections to the press and public. One of the most colourful fashion shows has to be that of Dur Doux. The label specializes in bold, statement-making evening gowns and party dresses with a global feel, finding inspiration in Africa, India and beyond.

Dur Doux, founded by mother-daughter duo Cynthia and Najla Burt, presented its vibrant FW22 collection, "Le Nouvelle Mosaïque". Their autumn/winter collection was filled with prints inspired by contemporary mosaic art. The look: a lavishly textured take on day-to-evening dressing for women and men. The brightly coloured palette showed focal colours of very peri, goldenrod, cobalt blue and jungle green.

The show in Bryant Park was a dazzling sight. Not only because of the beautiful models and newest fashion, but also because of the floral decorations. Marginpar’s purple Clematis, blue Eryngium and white Astrantia added even more colour to the scene.

The floral design for this New York fashion week location was created by Melissa Sullivan’s team at Le Bloomerie. Le Bloomerie specializes in fine art floral wedding and event design and is featured in Vogue, Style me Pretty, Magnolia Rouge and more. They love designing large dreamy floral installations and arches. This shows at Dur Doux: the models walked through a floral archway, while flower designs covered the runway as they walked.
