Producing and distributing young plants can be particularly tricky. On the one hand, these are very delicate and need to be taken care of with the utmost attention. On the other hand, one might compromise the space efficiency of the cultivation if plants are not arranged properly.
That is why Syngenta Flowers, in collaboration with BPO, has designed Xcarrier. “This system consists of two individual parts,” the Syngenta Flowers team explains. “A reusable rooting tray that is similar to the disposable plastic trays, and a shipping tray that holds the rooting tray during the distribution and is compatible with the Xtray.”
Our Xcarrier optimizes the production and distribution methods of young plants. One of the advantages is that you save up to 50% of your space once the trays are empty.

According to the team, this system has three advantages. “First of all, it benefits plant health and quality. It gives 11 cm plant space when stacked, thus reducing the risk of damaging the plants. On top of that, it makes efficient use of the space, which reduces the use of CC trolleys in the distribution process."
"For instance, you can save up to 50% of your space when trays are empty. Finally, the complete system makes up a closed-loop where trays are returned, cleaned, and reused. This greatly reduces the use of disposable plastic trays to make the supply chain as a whole more sustainable.”
