New in the perennial range: the compact Erysimum WallArt range

Erysimum hybrids are popular flowering plants for perennial borders. They flower early and attract lots of insects with their scent. Dümmen Orange is launching four fantastic compact hybrid varieties simultaneously as part of our new WallArt series. Their large, uniform flowers with colors ranging from delicate pearly white to vivid pinky-red and purple are perfect for any perennial border. They’ll also enhance any balcony or patio.

Series with large, uniform flowers
Wall art isn’t usually something you would associate with plants. But with its new Erysimum varieties Berry Lemonade, Citric, Pearl, and Pink Lemonade, this breeder proves that it works just as well with planting schemes. These semi-upright wallflower hybrids produce very uniform, large flowers and have a compact yet strong branching habit, a long flowering window, and an intense fragrance.

From delicate to strong
In the group of multicolored varieties, Berry Lemonade is one of the most diverse in color in the WallArt series. The colors of its inflorescences range from rich yellow and orange-red to impressive lilac and purple shades. A fantastic play of colors with a host of nuances in between that can keep up with any artist’s color palette. The colors are beautifully offset by the fresh green of the leaves. Pink Lemonade is a new Erysimum variety that has a similar interplay of colors but that is slightly more delicate and restrained overall than Berry Lemonade. Shades of subtle to intense yellow and lilac dominate, also standing out beautifully against the fresh green leaves.

Just as fresh is the new WallArt Citric in the yellow group. Its radiant flowers range from light to strong shades of lemon yellow, creating impressive, sunny highlights in any planting scheme. As part of the white color group, Pearl produces an altogether more subtle display with its delicate, pearl-colored flowers.

Makes a great summer perennial too
All four Erysimum hybrid varieties are around 15-20 cm tall and produce flowers in the first year. Their natural flowering season is spring. The WallArt series is only slightly hardy (-3°C) but is easy to overwinter in a cold greenhouse. Another bonus for growers: the varieties in the WallArt range do not require a cold period for flowering induction and can therefore be grown as first-year flowering summer perennials. In this case, they can also be cultivated outdoors. For consumers, the ideal place for this heat-loving perennial is in full sun, such as in a rock garden or on a south-facing balcony.

Wide range of perennials
The new WallArt series is yet another easy-care, attractive addition to the Dümmen Orange perennials range. The new Erysimum hybrids impressively enhance any planting scheme and can be combined with many different annual and perennial bedding and balcony plants. And that’s not all: there are plenty more new, intense colors to look forward to! A true highlight – even for growers who don’t usually produce perennials.

The entire Dümmen Orange perennials range is bred and produced with the greatest of care. Because natural resilience is a key feature of Dümmen Orange plants, growers and consumers alike will get sustainable products. With highly resilient plants in a huge variety of exceptionally beautiful and diverse flower and leaf colors and shapes, success is guaranteed – for growers throughout the cultivation period and for consumers planting them out in the garden, on the balcony or on the patio.
