"Bulbs packed with PertoTec’s innovative film prevents dehydration"

Consumers buy flower bulbs for their gardens to enjoy the beautiful flowers. Therefore it’s necessary that those bulbs remain fresh. Just like fruits and veggies, flower bulbs also need to be fresh in order to ensure bloom.

PerfoTec visited some French garden centers to see how Lily bulbs perform after transport from Holland. To transport bulbs from grower to consumer, it’s crucial that bulbs do not sprout or dehydrate too much before being planted in consumers' gardens.

With the PerfoTec Fast Respiration Meter, the respiration of Lily bulbs was measured. This is important to know how to micro perforate the packaging. Some Lily bulbs were packed with normal packaging and some Lily bulbs were packed and micro-perforated with PerfoTec special innovative film.

The results were good. When other Lily bulbs from competitors were already sprouted, the Lily bulbs with PerfoTec technology were still fresh. Microperforated packaging is important to prevent sprouting. Bulbs packed with PertoTec’s innovative film prevents dehydration.
