Colombian Flowers to be present at Korea Book Fair

Colombia has been officially announced as guest of honor at the Seoul Book Fair, the most important literary fair in Korea, organized by the Korean publishers' circle, where flowers will play a key role.

The announcement was made in the Pavilion of the Republic of South Korea at Filbo with the presence of the Minister of Culture of Colombia, Angélica María Mayolo Obregón, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Colombia, Kim Doo-sik, the Ambassador of Colombia in Korea, Juan Carlos Caiza Rosero, the director of the International Book Fair of Bogota, Andrés Sarmiento Villamizar and the president of Asocolflores, Augusto Solano Mejía.

The Flowers of Colombia will be present in the various events that will take place during the Fair. According to Augusto Solano, "we are working with the Embassy of Colombia in Seoul to bring the beauty of our flowers and their emotional power to the various cultural events to be held at the stand of our nation and in this fair in general."

"The Flowers of Colombia are increasingly recognized in the Asian market, and especially in the Korean market. That is why we want to share them with the more than 40 thousand attendees who are estimated to visit their Book Fair every day. Through their colors, shapes, textures and aromas, the flowers will cater to the sensibility, knowledge and inspiration that reading brings to human beings," said Solano.

Asocolflores has the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and is collaborating with ProColombia to coordinate the activities in which flowers will be present. "This is the first time that a Latin American country is a special guest at this Fair, and flowers, our best ambassadors to the world, will accompany writers and representatives of the national cultural sector in this important editorial, literary and academic exchange," said Solano.
