North Callaway FFA floriculture team wins state competition

The North Callaway FFA Chapter won the floriculture career development event at the 94th Missouri FFA Convention, which took place April 21-22 in Columbia. Students were asked to identify plants and were faced with decisions involving day-to-day problems that occur in the floral industry.

Plant care and diagnosis, floral arranging and sales, and product knowledge were tested in the event. FFA helps students develop their potential for leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Team members include Tyler Huddleston, Lauren Riecke, Isiah Craighead and Sam Pezold. Huddleston placed sixth, Riecke placed ninth, Craighead placed 16th and Pezold placed 35th out of 230 participants. The North Callaway FFA advisors are Jarod Womack, Katie Robnett and Caitlin Blakely.
