South Tulsa nursery holds fundraiser for Ukraine

President of Southwood Landscape and Garden Center, Margaret Schulte, said a team of people at Southwood saw the images on the news, and they wanted to do something to help.

The team at Southwood decided to hold a fundraiser for humanitarian efforts in Ukraine by selling 500 sunflowers provided by a vendor, which is the national flower of Ukraine.

They pulled resources together and did research to know the funds raised would go to Ukrainian families in need by donating the funds to the International Red Cross.

“Being a place where people come to experience happiness and beauty, we thought we could tie that in, so we approached some of our vendors and asked if we grew sunflowers would they donate some of the small plants so we could grow them out to help raise money for humanitarian efforts,” said Schulte.
